When art forms combine, the results can be surprisingly powerful. This is the case with the band Postwriter. Formed in Austin, Texas during the spring of 2014, Postwriter fuses together Spoken Word and Post Rock to form something greater than its individual parts. Working with members of the Southwest Post Rock Collective, they have been enrapturing audiences with their unique live performances combining the elements of visual storytelling, slam poetry, and delicately woven guitars and effects.

Immense, the debut album by Postwriter, releases in Summer 2016. It explores the line of human emotions between loss and love, despair and hope, abuse and transcendence. All while visiting the inner turmoil of emotional regress and pushing you forward to the endless expanses of the universe. The intricate guitar looping paced with raw, emotionally driven poetry is in the words of one fan, “Hypnotic. Like I couldn’t look away. Like I never wanted to.”

Mount Pressmore‘s eclectic style has been described most succinctly as “Chop-Pop,” and their musical comparisons span the range from the progressive visions of Yes and King Crimson to the dancefloor rock of The Police and Talking Heads. Mount Pressmore is Tom Ray (guitar and vocals), Alexei Sefchick (bass), Thomas Shaw (keyboard and vocals), and Kris Studebaker (drums). Since their founding in 2011, they have been a consistent fixture on the Austin club scene. They released their first record, “Enjoy,” in 2013, and will soon release their second, “The Masked Battle,” in the fall of 2016.

Every Shape A Diamond (ESD) is an instrumental rock duo from Austin, Texas. The members of the duo are drummer David Pavkovic, and guitarist Joshua LaRue. Pavkovic and LaRue first crossed paths in 2001 through the indie-rock-jazz juggernaut know as HiM, the continually evolving group helmed by Doug Scharin. With HiM, Larue and Pavkovic survived awesomely treacherous tours across North America and Europe. By 2008, chance had it that both Pavkovic and Larue settled in Austin Texas and ESD was born. Initially an experimental weekly jam session, the duo soon began writing tunes and in the process, forged a sound that embraced their guitars, drums and sequenced synthesizers.

The Invincible Czars are an adventurous, eclectic band from Austin, TX. They make music for thinkers, geeks, nerds and seekers/lovers of all things in the "other" category.

The Invincible Czars are an adventurous, eclectic band from Austin, TX. They make music for thinkers, geeks, nerds and seekers/lovers of all things in the “other” category. The group has come to operate more like an arts collective in recent years with seasonal material and ambitious projects that most rock bands would never think to try. They approach each project with a desire to explore a broader gamut of emotions, sounds and styles in hopes of moving the mind as much as the behind.

The band blends riffy prog-rock, classical music, loungey grooves, spacey klezmer, country shuffles and draw from a myriad of disparate influences from Tchaikovsky to Zappa, Louis Armstrong to The Scorpions and Neko Case to Danny Elfman, all with the DIY spirit post-punk groups like NoMeansNo and Fugazi.

Their shows are always entertaining and out of the ordinary. Humor, magic tricks and minor acrobatics abound. Not to mention their wardrobe collection!
